Willow Trees Reinforcing the Riverbank

Willow trees are planted right on the riverbank in order to strengthen the foundation. The state also took to cutting the branches off the willow trees, so that the trunk would grow even bigger and stronger. Willow trees with unusually large trunk, such as this one here, can be seen throughout the painting.<br/><br/>
