There are a number of these ox-drawn carriages in the painting. It is not clear what types of passengers would ride in such carriages, but judging by the elaborate structure of the different carriages, it is safe to assume that the passengers belong to the elite of society.

Horseback riding is a popular means of land transportation. However, within the context of the painting, horseback riding seems to be restricted to the elite of society, such as officials or the literati. Note, also, while there are many wheel carts drawn by donkeys, there seems to be no horse-drawn carriages at all in the painting.
