Description:

Suyong tang, Seriousness and Consonance Hall, was built between 1456 and 1462 by Lu Rong. It is the very center of the compound. The name 'seriousness and consonance' (suyong) comes from the Classic of Poetry, one of the Confucian Classics. It is the most important public space in the compound and the location for lineage-wide rituals, celebrations, entertainment, and discussions.
